Catnip is a mild, cooling, aromatic herb known for many things including its actions as a nervine, sedative, or carminative. 
Catnip's nervine and sedative qualities make it a great herb for quelling nervousness or stress, especially around bedtime. It is even safe for use with kiddos and can help ease fussiness or even colic in infants (especially when combined with fennel). 
It's also an incredible digestive aid known to be useful in dispelling gas, and reducing symptoms of stress-induced IBS.
