Motherwort is a calming nervine useful as a remedy for heart problems that are related to the nervous system. It temporarily lowers blood pressure and strain on the heart muscles making it useful for tachycardia and heart palpitations. 
 
It is also known for being useful for hot flashes, menstrual cramps, and scanty menstrual flow.
